Just some pictures

I'm so sad to say that I haven't been using our camera lately. Mostly because Aidan isn't that in to letting me take his picture, and because we've been so busy. Not great excuses. I still take random pictures with my phone, so I guess that's pretty good.

Aidan has been completely into Bowser. It started with watching us play Mario, but then we got tired of playing the same levels over and over, so now he requests YouTube videos. Plus, those people die a lot less often than I do.

 Aidan snuggling in the morning

One of the really good 3D pictures of baby girl. She looks a bit funky, and it's because she enjoys smashing her face up against things in her little world.

Her foot that she enjoys poking out of my right side.

Brad came out of the bedroom with Aidan like this the other night. For months and months, this was how he put Aidan to sleep. They both were laughing at how he doesn't really fit that way anymore.

A new direction

So my promise, the one where I would actually blog, to myself and my little blog obviously did not hold. I am going to try a different direction and I feel like it might work this time. My plan is to post mostly pictures of Mr. Pants and his new favorite subject - any type of large equipment vehicle. We have started taking pictures with any type of truck, tractor or machine that he spots. So here it is, I am going to give myself motivation because I can then use it to entertain Aidan on those days where we need a "moment" to reset ourselves. Plus, showing him pictures is better than letting him watch YouTube videos, right?

I've been feeling a bit under the weather today and after Aidan acted like he was going to take a nap (got me all sleepy and snuggly), he jumped off the bed and refused to stay in one room for more than 30 seconds. To keep us both happy, I suggested taking a ride in the Honda (our new van that Aidan thinks is amazing, thankfully) to go get chlorine from the pool store. On our way home I drove through Tom Brown Park with the hopes of seeing a tractor. Aidan quickly spotted a front-end loader and alerted me with his truck noise. We pulled in and snapped a few pictures just before the workers returned very confused why a mini-van was parked in their construction site. Oh well, Aidan was super happy!

He kept telling me that there was a tractor behind him

He couldn't be happier

The Front-End Loader
(Thank you Jacob for my excellent knowledge of construction vehicle names from when you were a toddler)

He spotted another tractor mowing the baseball fields. You'd think I took him to the wrong place. "Mom, that tractor is actually turned on, why are we here?"
Even though today could have been really rough, we had a great time listening to K-Pop (mainly Gangnam Style, look it up on YouTube) with the windows down and looking for trucks and tractors. Let's see what other construction sites we can crash in the near future.

Late Night with Aidan

After only taking one nap today, Aidan has still managed to stay up until midnight! We had a fabulous day today celebrating my birthday :) I cannot express the love I have for my family and how great they made me feel today.

I promise...

It has been a long while since I last posted a blog, but I am going to promise to myself that I will write more often. I constantly kick myself for not blogging during my pregnancy so I can look back and have a reference mainly for how I managed my diabetes. That's all said and done so I must move on.

This past weekend we celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday and oh what a weekend. It felt like we spent weeks preparing and the day was over in a flash. I suppose that's how it goes, but I sometimes wish these things wouldn't go by so fast. The next day we were off to Apalachicola to meet Brad's grandparents and his cousin Hugh (who was visiting from WA). We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant called Boss's right on the water of the bay. Aidan loved the attention, but wasn't so happy about being held by anyone other than me and Brad.

We are now settling into our normal routine, except Aidan is used to getting up in the mornings from this crazy last couple of weeks. So we were all up this morning around 8:30, but on the upside, he takes a nice morning nap. Hope you're having a good week and I promise I'll be back to my blog. Or so I say...

Sunday with the Parents

We realized that the three of us had not ventured out to my parents' house. Emily met us at our house so we could all ride out together.  Once out there we spent the day completely relaxing and catching up on some sleep. Since the weather was a little dreary there was no point in trying to get any work done, or that's what we told ourselves.

While looking through some old pictures I came across this little goodie.  This was a picture of us while we were in a Trail Scout meeting (Trail Scouts was our parent's off-spin of girl/boy scouts).

Just Another Saturday

Today dad wanted to go for a bike ride to kick off the start of Emily's Spring Break. We got mom to watch Aidan (I pumped extra for their day together) and we headed off to Tom Brown Park for our adventure.

These pictures were from the Lincoln Overpass

After everyone was back home, Brad and I spent the day being lazy with Aidan. We both got to take a nap, Brad played his video game, Epic Mickey, and I got to take a shower.

The rest of our activities include going to Publix and eating dinner. A nice lazy Saturday if you ask me!!
